This song always brings back memories of my dad. He loved trains and played the guitar by ear. I remember him sitting next to the Christmas tree, a small, wooden train track, and playing this song on his guitar. Brings tears back to my eyes.

Thank you for putting this up. It is my son’s FAVORITE video of all time. We watch it almost every day, and sing the song in the bathtub at night.

Luved it! This is what toy trains are all about, seeing the kids gaze at the trains, it truly is the worlds greatest hobby

I wanna play with my oldd trains now. I think only one can still run via electricity and my VERY 1st one is in pieces (DAMN CAT!).

I once went to a shop like this (it wasnt this but close) in OC, we went in but they kicked us out…in order to stay we had to “pay”. I hated that, but anyways nice collection and hopfully you get more!!

I’ve always loved this song. Great memories, and such a beautiful, underrated melody.

One of the nicest sets of vieos on here, and the haunting melody accompanying them the best. Really captures the magic of toy trains!!!

My dad loved trains and at eighteen he was a switch-men on the IL Central for towns of Harvey and Richton IL for a short time. My Grandfather also, worked for Railroad as a night watchmen before he retired. My Dad bought me a train set when i was little kid and help me set up, this was a favorite childhood memory! Every time this song came on the radio my Dad would turn up the volume. He passed in1995 of cancer but songs like this keep his memory alive! England Swings & King of the Road! too!

Beautiful……takes me back to running our ho train with my Dad when I was little. It ran through Dad’s workshop, the playroom, and a hall, all in the basement. There were mountains, a lake, tunnels, bridges, and Dad made it all. It’s still there, 53 years later, though don’t know if my sister and her husband (they bought the house from my parents in the 80’s) have kept it running. What a shame if it isn’t…..
