@docbang1 I do find the whole “running it on time” thing quite odd. What i like is the attention to detail of the models and the whole setup which is fascinating and I can’t explain why but it’s addictive to watch. However running the train to a timetable does nothing for me and I can’t see the attraction or point. All I want to see is the trains running and to control them myself.
Wish you faggots would quit crying over the speed of the trains. This is PROTOTYPICAL speed for that era and location. If you want fast go watch a modern day UP or BNSF layout or break out your old Life-Like shit and run it at 100mph in a figure-8.
This is a work of great beauty.
Thank u very much for sharing it here.
And thanks to the people who clearly put in many, many hours of diligent work in creating the little world there, and for their generosity in sharing the sights and sounds of their labors.
I don’t think I can say anything about the layout that you havn’t heard before so I’ll just throw a WOW out there.
On a side note, I always get a kick out of people who are using the radios and they feel like they still have to talk loud/borderline yell into the mic to the dispatcher to hear them!
so are you guys treating this like a simulation of operating an actual railroad? I was a big train fan since I was young, and i’ve seen how big and detailed these layouts get, but i’ve never really seen people run a simulation before. Interesting

Can’t believe no one will answer me – Does Tim Dickinson have a website for his BN layout? Has it been featured in any Model Railroader magaizine?
